Hi there, I'm Kerry, the English tea drinking, Gin lover and owner of The Vintage Pony.
I am a wife and busy mum to 3 pretty cool kids, and our crazy springer doodle, 'Reggie'.
We moved to Canada 3 years ago and fell in love with our new home in Horseshoe Valley. A year ago I asked my husbands opinion on buying a Horse trailer and converting into a bar and thankfully he didn't think I was so crazy and that we went ahead and bought our first Horse trailer which needed some love and attention. After months of renovation and a crazy roller coaster of a ride through covid we are happy to say she is ready to be enjoyed.
I am a very passionate person and when it comes to making people feel happy I pride myself on giving them the best service possible. With that in mind. I look forward to getting out there, being your host and bringing a little bit of English charm to your special day.
Juniper Berries are the flavor that transforms distilled spirits into gin and was once thought to be a medicinal cure for the plague
By 1688 when Queen Mary resided on the throne; England was in a Gin frenzy. Compared to French wine and Brandy Gin was much cheaper and by 1721 there was a working still in 1 in 4 homes across England.
Unfortunately gin also had an impact on the birth rates in England in this time and excessive drinking made men impotent and woman infertile and the nickname mother ruin was coined. The gin act was eventually introduced by the government to control the manufacturing and distribution to licence holders only.
There are now a total of 361 distilleries in the UK and by 2018 produced over 73 million bottles. There are now hundreds of gin brands to choose from being produced across the world using a huge range of plants and botanicals.
From mother ruin to the coolest liquor on the block, gin is the fastest growing tipple in the world
